Dear Smarter Websites,
As some of you may or may not know, Servers Australia suffered a network outage on the 13th of July that impacted many parts of the Servers Australia core network Australia wide.
This outage was caused due to multiple issues as outlined in our Post Incident Report (https://info.serversaustralia.com.au/hubfs/incident-reports/20180717.pdf).
Since the outage occurred, we have not had any major outages or issues within the network, and we have been busy making some major changes to ensure that the network has remained stable.
To ensure that we can continue to keep this stability and ensure that the outage that occurred on the 13th of July does not present itself ever again, we need to make some major network changes to the entire core network Australia wide. These changes have been in planning since the initial outage, and the Network Engineering team have been preparing and testing every scenario to ensure that there will be no major issues during the upgrades that will take place during our scheduled maintenance window.
I was going to simply send a regular scheduled outage notice to all clients, but I wanted to explain that this is directly related to the outage we had, and that this wok is a tad more involved than a normal outage. My team will be working between 1:00 am and 5:00 am during the maintenance window, with the vision of only disrupting the network for a few short periods of between 3:00 am and 4:00 am and for as little time as possible.
We will have as many staff as possible on-site during the upgrades, and I will also be present to ensure that the scheduled changes go smoothly.
I hope that clients will understand that this is a much needed change to ensure that we can continue to offer a stable and reliable network for everyone.
The schedule maintenance is planned as below;
Date: 9th October 2018
Time: 1:00am – 5:00am AEDT (Hazard Works only)
Interrupted Service: 3:00am – 4:00am AEDT
Please note that all times are in Australian Eastern Daylight Time.
The Servers Australia Helpdesk will be available on 1300 788 862 or +61 2 8115 8888 for any issues you face after the 5:00am finish time.
We will also be posting updates to our status page at https://status.mysau.com.au/ and we encourage you to sign up to receive updates if you are not already subscribed.
Yours Sincerely,
Jared Hirst
